Changing your app PIN to a new secure Password

As we develop mySchoolApp (and other apps on the same platform) we are introducing features which require tighter security for users than we have had to date. The current user-created PIN had no specific requirements and following advice from our security consultant, it has been decided to upgrade this to a Password.

So what do I have to do?

First step is to ensure you have the latest version of the app installed on your phone. Go to Google Play/Apple App Store and search for mySchoolApp if an update is available it will be shown there.

When you open the app you will be taken to a screen requesting that you create your new password. You will be asked for the following:

  • Old PIN
  • New password (6 characters minimum, comprising at least 1 lower case letter, 1 upper case letter and 1 numeral)
  • Confirm new password

Once entered you will be asked if you would like to use Touch/Face ID (if available). If you forget your password at any time in the future you will be able to request a password reset via the app.
