Whitelist mySchoolApp to ensure you receive notifications on Android phones
The Android app for mySchoolApp enables you to stay connected on the go. However, some users report issues with push notifications (app messages) on their Android smartphones.
This is because some Android smartphone manufacturers optimise battery use for all apps by blocking background services to conserve power and extend battery life. As this is a device-specific setting, mySchoolApp cannot display a notification when its background service is stopped.
To fix this, you need to 'whitelist' mySchoolApp on your Android smartphone:
- Go to Settings > Battery > Battery optimisation (on some devices, this is hidden in a sub-menu)
- Find mySchoolApp the list
- Tap Don't optimise
